Vehicle Description 2002 Ford Thunderbird Roadster Convertible Ford introduced the 11th generation Thunderbird in 2002, after a five year model production suspension.
The retro styling was a return to the original Thunderbird formula of the 1955 series.
Ford brought the Thunderbird model back as a two seat model that was available until 2005; during its success Ford produced over 4.
4 million Thunderbirds.
The eleventh generation had the same two seat coupe / convertible layout as the first generation as well as some of the same characteristics as were on the 1955 - 1957 T-birds.
To further commemorate the T-bird model return Ford developed a special color:
Thunderbird Blue - 2002 was the only year Ford manufactured models with this color.
This color is reminiscent of the 1955 Thunderbirds which featured a similar color option.
