Description Description - ExternalArconic is currently in search of a Supply Chain Management (SCM) Scheduler/Planner to join our Global Rolled Products (GRP) Operations business unit in Davenport, IA.

Since it opened in 1948, Arconic's Davenport, Iowa aluminum facility has been at the forefront of American manufacturing.
Nestled on the banks of the Mississippi River in Iowa, the plant employs 2,400 people and is a focal point of the global aluminum industry.
Through continued modernization, including a $300 million investment over the past decade alone, Davenport has maintained its position as the world's premier aerospace supply plant and is today the hub of Alcoa's $3 billion aerospace business.
The SCM Scheduler/Planner will be responsible for creating, modifying, maintaining, and communicating production center schedules that balance throughput and delivery while ensuring continuous inventory flow through all areas of responsibility.
Additionally, in this role you will:
Regularly interact with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, SCM, and bargaining unit employeesWork as part of the SCM Team and use human performance concepts and standardized work to reduce inventory and flow times while maintaining 95% delivery to external customersReview new orders, looking for possible application of finished goods or in-process metal (e.
g.
overage, salvage, excess) prior to releasing the order for casting and hot rollingReview and update the production flow path (as determined by the Lot Generation system) to ensure metal produced will meet customers' requirements, using the most economically feasible fabricating practice, when necessaryReview the ingot size selected by Lot Gen for appropriateness, considering quantity required, historical recovery, and standard ingot size menuProvide feedback to the Lot Generation Programmer in support of accurate flow path informationAnalyze and process change order requests, order cancellations, and production holds as requested by Sales, Quality, and Operations personnelProvide inventory management for salvage, overage, and excess materialGenerate practices in support of experiments (shop orders) under the guidance of Quality, Operations, or Engineering personnel and provide vacation relief for other Order Planners and SchedulersWhile this job is primarily day-shift with periodic weekend work required.

Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Management discipline or other relevant discipline from an accredited institution 2 years scheduling and/or Supply Chain Management experience in manufacturingEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications:
5 years in manufacturing environmentExperience working with and building successful working relationships with a broad range of individuals and functions both inside and outside the organizationWork experience with principles and concepts of Lean Manufacturing used for achieving business resultsExperience with inventory management concepts and forecastingBasic understanding of different aluminum alloy compositionsWorking knowledge of procurement and shipment processesExcellent problem-solving skills with out of the box thinkingExperience working in a union environment.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
