Weld Process Specialist

Large capital Outside Sales Position selling Welding Processes and Welding Applications.
Works closely with an Advance Fabrication Specialist to gain experience using the Airgas Advanced Fabrication Sales Methodology including, The Efficiency Analysis, and Engineered Cost Reductions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.
Sale of Airgas Welding Processes and Welding Applications Develop in-depth knowledge of Airgas Welding Processes and Welding Applications in order to to explain how Airgas can match customer needs with the appropriate products and services.
Under the guidance of the Advanced Fabrication Specialist (AFS), work on small to mid-size Airgas accounts in order to gain or retain business as well as experience.
Travel to customer sites with an AFS to understand the customer's current welding processes and gain an understanding of what welding solutions Airgas has to offer the customer.
Develop an understanding of how to increase sales and margin profit through The Efficiency Analysis, Engineered Cost Reduction and Welding 201.
Provide information on Airgas Shielding Gases, weld products and services to customers.
Learn about flexible and fixed automation applications and CNC cutting systems and be able to explain them to customers.
Develop understanding of the types of customer inquiries and how to satisfactorily resolve customer complaints.
Operate in a safe manner at all times and be a proactive advocate of safety; promote safety by example and aggressively promote safety with other associates and customers.
Must be willing and able to travel overnight 50-60%.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Previous experience in Sales required.
Technical Sales experience preferred.
Must have minimum of 4-5 years in the welding Industry CWSR (AWS Certified Welding Sales Representative) Associate Degree Welding (AAS), Military Weld training acceptable or Bachelor's degree (Engineering) from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Established track record as producer could possibly supersede educational requirements.
TQM, Lean, or Six Sigma background.
Demonstrate a strong interest in welding processes and applications.
Demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of welding.
Must be self-motivated and results/action oriented.
Must have good presentation and communication skills and confidence to permit selling to high-level officers of customer companies.
Must be able to apply mathematical formulas that quantify the costs associated with the processes so analysis and comparisons may be created.
Ability to be a team player with positive attitude towards other associates, customers and work environment.
Must be self-motivated, success oriented, mechanically, technically and detail oriented.
Ability to be flexible and able to shift gears in the face of interrupted schedules, canceled appointments and unfulfilled promises.
Must be proficient with computer applications including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, material safety data sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must pass the American Welding Society (AWS), Certified Welding Sales Rep exam to gain entrance in this program.
Membership within organizations such as AWS, ASM, ASNT, ASQ, ASME and SME desirable Must have a valid driver's license.
