St. Ambrose University welcomes applications for a full time tenure track position in the Teacher Education Program beginning in August 2015. The ideal candidate will have an academic background and experience with current practices in teacher education, issues of state regulation, accreditation, and best practices in Education Foundations, History, Philosophy and Current Issues in Education, Secondary Education Content Reading, and teaching writing through the curriculum and will have a minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience in P-12 Education
The Teacher Education Program is located in the College of Health and Human Services. The successful candidate will be joining an engaged faculty in the School of Education that combines both undergraduate and graduate education programs. The Teacher Education Program offers a unified birth to 3rd grade Early Childhood/Special Education teaching license; a PK-K endorsement; an Elementary Education License with endorsements in all the core subject areas plus an option for a Special Education endorsement; secondary endorsements in all the core subject areas; and K-12 licenses in Art, Music and PE as well as an endorsement in ESL/ELL. The Teacher Education Program is chartered by the State of Iowa and is the only nationally accredited teacher education program currently following the CAEP Inquiry Brief path. The School of Education seeks a Foundations and Secondary Content Reading educator with specialization in and areas of interest and expertise to include the above areas. The ideal candidate will bring experience, knowledge and interest in teaching writing and writing across the curriculum. Responsibilities of this position include teaching in areas of expertise, advising and mentoring students, serving on department and university committees and implementing a scholarship agenda. The position requires a Ph.D. or Ed.D. from a regionally accredited university, with specialization education foundation, secondary content reading, and/or writing across the curriculum. A valid teaching license and/or eligibility to obtain an Iowa teaching license is required. Review of applications will begin March 15, 2015 and continue until the position is filled. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
