POSITION SUMMARY :
As an Assistant Manager of Accounting with Nestle Purina, you will have the opportunity to embark upon a management development program in a quality-driven production environment. This is a developmental role that is expected to evolve into other career opportunities within other Nestle Purina locations. You'll have the opportunity to rotate through each factory function to learn our operations with our production, engineering management, quality assurance, supply chain, finance and human resources teams.
The Assistant Manager of Accounting will play a key role in ensuring Nestle Purina has the appropriate materials inventories and compliance levels to achieve our standards of manufacturing excellence. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining the necessary accounting systems, procedures, controls and audits to ensure that the plant and division management are provided with the following:
A continuous analysis of inventory results
Accurate month-end results reporting
An effective inventory accounting and reporting system consistent with company a division policies and operating standards
The Assistant Manager, Accounting will foster a safe work environment, ensures all quality standards are met, and is responsible for the proper management of day-to-day operational and environmental issues. The successful candidate will be able and willing to relocate to another Nestle Purina factory location after approximately six months of starting with the organization.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Maintain finished product inventory accounting, packing supply, and ingredient
stock systems reports.
Establish, advise and modify plant procedures to provide an effective Material
Control Program to meet Plant Materials Accounting Goals.
Communicate with Management, Team Leaders, and plant personnel any changes
in operating or reporting procedure.
Coordinate, audit, and advise on physical inventory procedures and cut-off programs.
Collaborate with Financial Accounting on various reports to insure accurate inventory
records.
Attend and/or conduct management/supervisory, hourly, support staff meetings as
requested or required.
Provide plant management with analysis of inventory variances, yields and
efficiencies.
Conduct and/or coordinate studies, analysis of flows and procedures as requested.
Collaborate with Plant Controller monitor/execute training programs for entry level
Accounting Management Trainees.
Supervise and provide direction to Accounting staff.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :
Education :
B.A. or B.S. Degree in Accounting
Experience :
2+ years of professional accounting experience
6+ months of leadership or management experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
