# Position Description
Alcoa has an exciting opportunity within the Global Rolled Products Business Unit for an ABS Engineer. This position is responsible for helping to create a self-sufficient and continuous improvement culture by designing and prioritizing the development plan and metrics for closing the gap of current and target business change along with teaching and coaching during the execution of plan.
Teach/Coach, set priorities for local ABS resources, handle multiple projects within the business, and sharing knowledge throughout the ABS community and BU/RU''s.
Sharing of knowledge includes a learn by doing methodology which requires a significant amount of time and commitments to observation and participation on the shop floor
Responsible for identification and development of best/standard practices that ensure that critical equipment is planned, scheduled, and synchronized along each flow path in order to achieve the best possible customer service while maximizing profitability and minimizing inventory assets.
Support the business in the design and implementation of flow-based systems that achieve maximum customer service at the lowest possible inventory cost by assigning and developing resources within respective organization.
Develop capability of Alcoans in locations in the path of executing projects focused on business results
Execute enhanced customer service models built from target conditions that respond to customer needs and competitive situations.
Utilize ABS techniques to drive systemic business processes that drive mill and customer problem resolution and prevention.
Major activities/Key Challenges
Advising Plant Managers, Area Managers, ABS managers and plant employees on how to overcome resistance to change, and teach and coach how to effectively integrate ABS principles.
Influencing the leadership practices of various BU''s and aligning the key initiatives throughout the organizational system without direct authority to do so.
Analyzing complex business system such as supply chain, sales and operations planning, and maintenance processes.
Influencing conflicting priorities, internal and external demands that impact current manufacturing processes and capabilities.
Influencing decisions that may be in direct conflict such as cost issues and creating a customer-centric culture.
Working with internal customers who have inconsistent understandings of ABS.
Work across a range of international locations, with diverse cultures, often through the services of an interpreter, to bring about rapid change and accelerated take up of ABS principles.
Work independently for extended periods
Travel as required to meet requirements of the job.
Develop and monitor tracking systems to evaluate supply chain plans and execution to improvement plans to insure agreed operating results are achieved.
Take a leading role in developing and deploying systemic changes and standard practices in the manufacturing system based upon ABS principles that will lead to enhanced customer satisfaction while eliminating production and inventory waste.
Develop appropriate internal tests within existing and future target conditions to highlight performance, delivery and inventory problems. Define the help chain that will drive to problem resolution and elimination.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience in utilizing basic lean manufacturing methods as a means of business improvement is desired.
A basic understanding ABS principles is necessary.
Some demonstrated ability to lead a process team or small work group is needed.
Incumbent must be articulate, computer literate, and have outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
The incumbent must be a self-starter, with confidence in their own judgment, willing to face new situations and problems
# Basic Qualifications
This position requires a college degree preferably in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or a technical discipline
1 year of demonstrated leadership in a manufacturing/project environment.

Must be a self starter with ability to determine priorities based upon specific business needs
Ability to work well with a broad group of cultures.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to successfully complete and implement business programs

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
