Manage and participate in the design, planning, and maintenance of the campus landscaping, grounds maintenance, snow removal and equipment maintenance/repair to maintain a safe and attractive environment at all St. Ambrose maintained sites. Position has the management responsibilities to support the grounds area of the University. Responsibilities include supervision and coordination of staff; landscape design and project planning, irrigation planning, installation and maintenance; plant material selection, installation and maintenance; turf design, installation and maintenance, including athletic fields; site cleaning, repair and maintenance of equipment including small engine grounds maintenance equipment; selection and purchasing of all grounds supplies and equipment, hiring and training grounds employees. All snow removal operations coordination. Considerable independence is expected in planning and scheduling work and determining methods and procedures to be followed. Bachelors degree in a related field plus a minimum of 3 years full-time experience managing work staff; or related associates degree plus a minimum of 5 years full-time experience in management/grounds keeping; or a minimum of 10 years full-time experience in grounds keeping or management of skilled and entrance level employees. Candidate must have a pesticide applicators license. Experience in turf management and/or athletic field management a plus. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
