The Operations Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of the Tool Makers, CNC machinists, Welders, and General Laborers required to produce and deliver the products to the customer.
This entails managing the workload assignments, monitoring the delivery schedule, purchasing of components, and tooling required, and maintenance.
The Operations Manager reports directly to the President.
Duties &
Responsibilities:
Directs and monitors workload and progress of Tool Makers, CNC machinists, Welders, and General Laborers required to produce and deliver the products to the customer.
Creates and maintains equipment maintenance checklists.
Purchases tooling required for manufacturing jobs and maintains the tool crib of on-hand tooling and supplies for the shop.
Performs and monitors E2/Job Boss transactions for labor to assure accurate labor hours paid each week.
Uses and maintains daily the shop progress report for open Jobs and reports progress to management team.
Directs and mentors shop personnel regarding Safety, Quality, and Overall shop appearance (5-5).
Works directly with Project Manager or Office Personnel to resolve issues with detailing of prints for shop floor requirements.
Assures shop personnel maintains safe operations adhering to safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
Works with the Quality manager to assure the requirements of the Douglas Metrology Master List to ensure inspection equipment calibrated and being used properly.
Assigns and monitors training qualification of personnel performing calibration of inspection equipment.
Daily evaluation and feedback related to quality, schedule status, performance to time estimates and percentage of time clocked into a billable job of the shop personnel.
Formal performance evaluation of the shop personnel on an annual basis.
(First year will be with the owner) General shop duties and activities as assigned by Management team.
In addition to listed duties, management reserves the discretion to add or modify duties and responsibilities at will.

The Operations Manager is expected to meet the following standards of performance:
All jobs are completed on time and to the highest quality standards.
The shop's budget is managed effectively, and costs are kept in line.
The shop's workforce is hired, trained, and developed effectively.
A safe and productive work environment is maintained.
Key metrics and performance indicators are reported accurately and on time.
Requirements:
Leadership and Lean Manufacturing background 10
years' experience in shop environment 2
years' experience in direct supervisory role and quality role 2
years' experience in materials, tooling and shop supplies purchasing Ability to follow verbal and written instructions by management team and multi-task Able to work with Office Manager and Tool Designers to convey needed information Excellent verbal and written communication skills High level ability to read and interpret drawings and prints The ability to work independently and as part or leader of a team Excellent math, IT skills, and Microsoft office capabilities Proficient in requirements for calibration of inspection equipment and tracking of the process Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$80,000.
