Summary:
Under general supervision, organize, implement and conduct the maintenance at Commission facilities in a safe manner to maximize efficiency in operations.
The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for rolling and stationary operational equipment as well as site and building maintenance.
Responsible to perform basic equipment diagnosis for all mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
1.
Maintains Commission equipment in safe and operational condition.
Maintain required service and repair records 2.
Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
3.
In coordination with the Facility Supervisor and/or facility Manager arranges for service from qualified service providers.
4.
Operation of equipment to move material throughout Commission facilities.
5.
Educates staff by providing training on the Commission's preventative maintenance program.
6.
Conduct preventative maintenance and normal building and site maintenance.
7.
Repairs and performs maintenance on conveyor belts such as replacing rollers, pulleys and bearings.
8.
Performs screen maintenance such as removing and maintenance on spindles, sprockets and chain drives.
9.
Maintains organization of shop tools and parts inventories.
10.
Adheres to facility cleanliness, 5S organizational systems and facility standard work procedures while maintaining a vision for continuous improvement.
11.
Perform other job-related duties as needed and/or assigned.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines:
High school diploma or GED equivalent AND the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job.
Minimum of three (3) years of industrial maintenance experience troubleshooting and repairing various types of equipment.
Considerable knowledge of maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical on vehicles and machinery.
Welding and fabrication experience required Essential Skills:
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and possess a satisfactory driving record.
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Class B Commercial driver's license (when required).
Ability and experience using various hand and power tools.
Ability to read a tape measurer, calipers, micrometer and multi-meter.
Ability to troubleshoot electric and fuel-powered motors.
Ability to bypass, diagnose and change out VFDs, motor started and PLC cards.
Knowledge of when to check and replace fuses.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as; safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and policy and procedure manuals.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to conduct training and provide instruction in equipment operation and plant safety.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, managers, employees, clients, customers, government representatives and the general public.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees and customers to deliver instructions and resolve issues.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, officials and the general public.
Ability to coordinate own actions with those of other workers/operators on a busy site.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to operate personal computer and general office equipment.
Must pass post-offer physical and background check.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
Certification Requirements:
Successful completion of forklift certification (when required) Preferred certification in Red Cross CPR and safety training.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, talk and hear, and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently required to stand, walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Occasionally required to sit and smell or taste.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Must follow Commission safety protocols for lifting in excess of 100 pounds, including but not limited to team lifting techniques.
Regularly required to utilize personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hat, and safety shoes.
Must frequently utilize personal protective equipment such as hearing protection and gloves.
Must occasionally utilize personal protective equipment such as apron, protective clothing and respirator.
Requires good spatial perception and manual dexterity.
Working Environment:
Frequently required to perform work outdoors year round with exposures to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
Routine exposure to vibration and loud background noise.
Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; work in high, precarious places; risk of electric shock; and extreme heat (non-weather).
Occasional non-regular work hours, which may include on-call shifts for breakdowns, days, and weekends.
Work hours may be on rotation to meet the operational need of the facility.
