Since it opened in 1948, Arconic' s Davenport, Iowa aluminum facility has been at the forefront of American manufacturing. Through continued modernization, including a $500 million investment over the past decade alone, Davenport has maintained its position as the world's premier aerospace supply plant and is today the hub of Alcoa's $3 billion aerospace business. The Senior Staff Electrical Engineer will provide support and leadership to plantwide manufacturing and process areas. In this role, you will lead major capital projects and process improvement efforts across Davenport Works and satellite locations. Additional responsibilities (but not limited to) are the following:
Manage large capital projects (from funds approval to completion) up to and in excess of $1MM in value, throughout Davenport and satellite locations (Danville, IL and Hutchinson, KS) Advise/counsel on failure analysis; participate in and lead problem solving teams, identification of root cause and solutions and organize support from other resources Relied upon by plant resources for advice, direction, and estimates for capital and process solutions. Provide leadership, technical direction, installation support, commissioning support for execution of major capital projects and equipment outages Conduct technical assessments of individual pieces of equipment in advance of potential capital and process improvement solutions Maintain excellent working relationship with internal customers (such as:
procurement resources, leadership teams, production and maintenance resources ) external suppliers to ensure capital project and process improvement needs are understood and met Utilize technical knowledge-base and provide advanced technical guidance to ensure there is a thorough understanding of equipment and its effect on utilization, process and product quality Provide technical solutions to recurring design, process and application problems Although this position is primarily a first shift position; due to the 24/7 manufacturing environment, working off-shift hours and/or weekends to support operations is expected, although not always required Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution Minimum ten (10) years of engineering experience with minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment Basic understanding of statistics Basic understanding of Vision Systems and Surface Monitoring Systems Basic understanding of Rolling theory and Rolling process for metals or paper industry Demonstrated proficiency in Industrial controls, programming (PLCs, C++, Python, Java, etc) Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Ten (10) or more years of experience of manufacturing processes and principles, equipment and components; including but not limited to:
facilities and industrial infrastructure, cranes, electrical power systems, control systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, etc. 10 years or more of experience in project leadership and engineering, equipment specification, project scope development, estimating and project financial controls Demonstrated proficiency in equipment repair and replacement analysis, engineering economics, and capital project investment
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
