JOB DESCRIPTION Primary Responsibilities Execute the full systems lifecycle for projects:
define requirements, design a solution, develop, test, and implement a solution that meets business needs and enhances processes. Utilize time management skills and self-motivation to complete enhancement projects on-time and on-cost to meet delivery performance goals. Utilize project management methodology and tools to deliver solutions and communicate status. Identify and urgently solve problems to support business processes, systems, interfaces, reports, and meet the service level agreement goals. Initiate problem solving and drive continuous improvement Demonstrate knowledge of the practical application of systems and technology including systems architecture, hardware, operations, and life cycle. Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Manage high stress situations calmly and effectively. Develop technical and user documentation for the ongoing support of applications. Pursue continuous learning consistent with evolving job requirements, ongoing changes in technology, and changes in the organization. Key Objectives Develop professional working relationships across all levels of the organization from shop-floor personnel to plant management and IT management. Proactively engage with system users to understand the business processes and functional requirements of change requests ranging from simple or complex and cross-platform Collaborate with business users and other IT resources to resolve issues and implement solutions Collaborate with management, business users, and other stakeholders to identify end-user requirements and specifications for application projects Be a reliable, responsible, and dependable team member. Execute planned professional development and training annually and communicate career goals to your supervisor. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Minimum 5 years' minimum in a IT applications or infrastructure role Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, or related field from an accredited institution 5
years' programming experience in COBOL or VAX COBOL 5
years' experience supporting COBOL applications based in VAX 5
years' programming experience in OpenVMS 7 5
years' experience with DCL Digital Command Language 5
years' experience with RDB database 5
years' experience with ACMS / TDMS Application Control Management System Tasks 5+years' experience in Software Development Life Cycle methodologies. Technical experience with systems integrations Advanced knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure, and operations Functional business knowledge from an IT perspective in product costing, inventory, finance, invoicing, order delivery, planning & scheduling, quality, and manufacturing systems. Ability to introduce new ideas and concepts that enhance the customer experience, streamline operations, and provide optimal security that fits the organization's needs Strong relationship skills and ability to interact with internal and external customers, other analysts, and management Solid understanding of systems analysis, design, and programming techniques Strong detail-orientation and problem-solving skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Experience with translating business requirements into system functional and non-functional requirements ABOUT Davenport Works Davenport Works is the country's largest aluminum rolling mill, it was opened in 1948 and currently employs more than 2,000 people and ships product worldwide. Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Software DevelopmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
