We have an immediate opening for a Continuous Improvement Manager. The Continuous Improvement (C.I.) Manager is responsible for leading the continuous improvement effort at Davenport Operations. The C.I. Manager will oversee a team of individuals focused on developing and implementing lean manufacturing strategies to drive rapid profitable growth. The focus will be on the manufacturing operations and related support centers supported by capital investment, operational excellence improvements and career development. The role includes but is not limited to the following:
The Continuous Improvement Manager role includes (but is not limited to) the following job duties:
Serve as the location expert for continuous improvement tools and processes Partner with plant leaders to develop continuous improvement strategies that directly support plant Hoshin goals, then implement those strategies on the shop floor including the tools and processes required to sustain the improvements in the future. Lead and deploy Smart manufacturing concepts to improve operational efficiency including execution of project and outcome with department support Lead reliability strategy and implementation to support business objectives Lead self-directed work team culture to empower worker creativity and resourcefulness. Assist in developing closer connections to our customers and suppliers. Lead the development and implementation of the overall Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program, including establishing the standardized visual system, the overall assessment process, training, and building a system for engaging volunteers for TPM events. Participate on the Business Unit Continuous Improvement Steering Committee Lead the effort in training all levels of employees in lean manufacturing principles and concepts Plan and execute the annual Hoshin Planning Session Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Institution Minimum 5 years of experience leading and implementing Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement initiatives Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Qualifications:
5 years experience with Problem Solving techniques, RCA, PFMEA, CMMS, and equipment design 5 years experience utilizing Continuous Improvement tools. A Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing or Sciences from an accredited institution Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing on the shop floor in manufacturing operations Expert knowledge of Lean Manufacturing theories, methodologies, standards, and tools to generate meaningful, quantified improvement in:
cost reduction, efficiency, reduced inventory, shortened cycle or lead times, improved quality and reliability, on-time delivery, or safety Experience training and coaching plant personnel to achieve productivity savings using Lean principles and tools Understanding of financial and non-financial metrics necessary to achieve Plant and BU Hoshin goals Minimum of 1 year of experience in management or Supervisor role(s) in areas of Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, Planning, Financial, Manufacturing or Technical areas Successfully implementing large scale/systemic change efforts across a diverse organization Experience performing VSM analyses and OEE studies to identify true production bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement Greenbelt certification/experience in Six Sigma is considered a plus
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Systems Architecture & EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
