Position Title: Paralegal
Department: Administration: Legal Affairs
Purpose: Provides quality assistance to the Legal Department of Genesis Health System to ensure timely and efficient legal assistance is provided throughout Genesis. Key accountabilities include: drafting and processing legal documents, preparing correspondence and reports, reviewing legal documents, policies and forms for accuracy, performing legal research, drafting and processing policies, managing contract processes and database, responding to inquiries from external departments, assisting with corporate transactions including due diligence, contract review, and preparation of closing documents and checklists, and other duties as assigned.
Report To: Vice President, Legal Affairs
Supervisory Responsibility: No Supervision: The job does not require the provision of guidance or supervision to others. There is no formal responsibility for directing others.
Materials Responsibility: Very Limited. Work requires very limited responsibility for material resources. Examples of resources could include personal work materials, supplies or equipment, or very small amounts of cash. The employee has a very limited or indirect amount of control over these resources. Although human error might require the repair or replacement of materials, usually the cost of correcting these errors is minor. The variety and volume of resources is also very limited. Problems associated with material resources are very uncomplicated.

POSITION SPECIFICATION
Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Field Of Study: Business, Law, or Healthcare
Training Preferred: Contract law, Healthcare law; Paralegal certificate
Experience: More than 3 years experience required.
Possible Exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens: NoneEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
