Davenport Manufacturing Facility - Location Overview
Located minutes from downtown Davenport in the heart of the Quad Cities, the Davenport Plant offers significant opportunities for growth development for its more than 1,300
highly engaged workforce, making it one of the flagship operations within the Oscar Mayer business.

Position Overview
We are currently seeking a
Continuous Improvement Engineer
at our Davenport, Iowa location; a large & complex manufacturing facility with a highly engaged workforce producing various Oscar Mayer products. The CI Engineer is part of the plant organization and plays a key role within the Continuous Improvement function in developing and sustaining the plant's CI culture and roadmap. Under direction of the CI Manager, he/she is a power user of improvement tools focused on optimizing manufacturing performance and is responsible for transferring skill capability to conversion teams. The CI Engineer partners with operations personnel to identify and execute breakthrough and continuous improvement projects that will result in cost savings for the facility.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

-Works with CI Team and Department Personnel to define and scope improvement opportunities within the facility

-Leads and executes breakthrough and continuous improvement results

-Develops and applies necessary technical skills to deliver improvement results

-Coaches, trains and develops team members and other plant personnel including Green Belts

-Engages line/process/department personnel in all phases of improvement work and develops strong technical network with plant resources

-Maintains appropriate documentation including project charter, progress updates and final reports

-Captures and communicates learnings to enable best practice replication
Requirements Include:
-BA/BS Degree in Engineering related field.
-5
years engineering experience
-Strong computer skills
-Strong knowledge of business financials including statistics
-Ability to work aggressively and effectively with a wide array of plant personnel ranging from hourly employees to senior management
-Strong communication and leadership skills
-Strong project & change management skills
-Influencing/coaching people at all levels
-5-10% travel required

Desired Qualifications/Experience Include:
-Six Sigma Black Belt/Lean certified. If not certified, will be required to
successfully complete Black Belt certification as condition of employment
